Last night we spent some time (very little time) decorating the house for Christmas. The girls had fun putting the ornaments on the trees and watching me arrange the nativities (cuz no one touches the nativities but me) :P. A couple years back we got each of the kids their own little tree to decorate and put their newly made ornaments on. Of course this year it seems that the girls are making wall decorations in school, so we'll have to make some for the trees at home.
Today we took a great day trip to the new Bass Pro in Manteca. It was WAY cool! So much better than Cabelas from a moms point of view. It seems that every Christmas, Bass Pro creates a "winter wonderland" in their stores. The girls got to write letters to Santa (who was there), make a reindeer hat (that we ended up doing at home), play in the shooting gallery (because, you know, Santas reindeer can't just roam around a hunting store without someone aiming at them), and looked at the awesome sights around the store. Honestly, we were there for almost 2 hours and I still didn't get a chance to look at the merchandise because of all the other neat things. Here are some (ok, a whole bunch) pictures...

This is what you walk through to get into the store :)

There is an absolutely humongous working fireplace in the entery as well.

You know how your kids always hide in the clothes racks?? Well, now they can without frustrating you :)

The kids loved the pond with big ol' bass swimming around (and fake fishermen) :)

This is what you see when looking up. Under the rock formation are the stairs to go upstairs. The bottom of the picture is showing the top of the fish tank that the waterfall is pouring into...

The only picture we have with Santa. Becca only got this close because she was buckled and couldn't get away lol.

I've seen so many Bass Pro Shops around here and wondered why the heck they are so big and why most of them are off the freeway on "Bass Pro exit". Maybe we'll have to check one out sometime.
That store looks so fun! It looks like a place that Kevin could spend all day in. It's nice that it keeps the kids entertained.
