Today at preschool we talked about camouflage animals. We looked at some very tricky pictures and tried to find the animals. Seriously, some of them were really hard to see. I had to use the cheat sheet. Then Mark brought out our Bearded Dragons for the kids to hold. After snack, we went outside and found camouflage bugs. The kids started coloring the ants with chalk to help camouflage them lol. :)

We love preschool!
Shayna has so much fun at Mommy and Me preschool with her friends. I know I've said it before, but we have the best little group of kids! They love each other so much and get along so well. It will be really sad when we all go our separate ways, but until then we are having tons of fun. :) And I'm sure this group will love being/having pen-pals.

Forrest felt bad that Austin was stuck in his chair so he brought his food outside to keep Austin company. So sweet :)

Memorial Weekend
Well, I don't know about you, but I had a FANTASTIC weekend! We started it early by taking off Wednesday and going to So. Cal. We stayed at Marks parents house and enjoyed the weather by playing outside with some water toys and bubbles. The reason we took the trip was because one of my cousins, Kirsten, just graduated from High School and her brother, Brandon, graduated from Jr. High. On Friday, my Aunt Terri and her man Kenny had a BBQ/pool party for them. It was so great to see everyone. And I mean everyone! My Uncle Lon (who I haven't seen since my wedding I think) came into town from Idaho. And my moms cousins, Donna and her son and Larry with his family, showed up too. Part of the fun was that my mom and dad had no idea we were all coming out, SURPRISE! ;) Of course I was thrilled to meet Jocelyn, my newest little niece, for the first time. She is just adorable. (It was nice to see you too, Tate and Jody) ;) And even though I only was able to talk to him for about half a second, my other bro., Jared was there too (you must plan a trip up here, the kids were bummed not to see you). Another cousin of mine, Michael, recently got engaged which is another reason we headed down south. His sweety is going to fit right in with the fam. They had an engagement dinner on Sat. night. I loved talking and catching up with my cousin Laura, Aunt Diane, and Uncle Lance. It always amazes me how much we have in common. Laura, as soon as I find the easiest way to copy all the genealogy info I have, I'll send it to you :) (sorry if it seems like I'm name dropping haha. But you all should be jealous, my family is awesome! ;) ) I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving now, its probably the next time I'll be able to see most of them.
Here are some pix of our weekend. Even though I did try to remind myself, I forgot to pull out my camera for the parties. So I'm REALLY hoping everyone posts theirs on their blogs and FB so I can "steal" them (hint hint).
Austin couldn't wait to get in the pool but when I put him in, he kept playing with the water outside of it lol.

Spring Fling
Every year the kids school, Birch Lane Elem., has a huge "Spring Fling Carnival". It is the major fundraiser for the school. The have a raffle to win awesome trips (like to Disneyland), Wii games, and more. There is also a silent auction that has items from local business, services donated by teachers (like having them come read a bed time story to the kids), and things the kids have made. Each class is in charge of a carnival type booth. Brooke's class did the "Toes and Marbles Challenge" and Kelsie's class did "mini golf". The PTA rents huge water slides, bouncy houses, and train you can ride around campus. Even the Davis Fire Dept comes so the kids can climb on and check out the engines. Its always a fun day that supports a great school.

Happy Birthday Shayna!
I am so excited for you! I can't believe you are already 5! I love hanging out with you everyday. Going to the park, singing songs, telling crazy stories. You are going to have so much fun in Kindergarten next year, but I sure will miss you for those 3 hours. :) Happy Birthday Shay!

More 4-H pics
The girls wanted these pictures on the blog too. I guess my original post just wasn't good enough for them lol.

The goat really did take a bite out of her jacket.
Below are pigs two of the girls in our club raised.
These are some super cute ways to grow plants. I took the pictures just so, in the future, I might be able to recreate them :)

4-H beading class and Spring Show
This year in 4-H I was the project leader for the beading class. I can't remember if I already blogged about this but I'm gonna anyway ;) There were 5 girls in the class and we met once a month to learn new beading techniques. The year started in Feb for us and was over after the Spring Show in May. The Spring Show is where the kids display the things they've made, and for those involved with the animals, this is when they show them and auction them off if they wish. The older kids (9+) get judged on how well they did. (Bragging Time: My niece is in 4-H where she lives and is going to State for the outfit she sewed!) The younger kids get Participation Ribbons for all the items they enter.
The beading group minus one member. Shay was excited to be un-officially part of the group. (you have to be 6 to join)
Brookes "midnight" bracelet. The beads she used are stars and moons.

For the Spring Show our club was in charge of decorating for the Buyers Luncheon...a luncheon provided to the people who buy the animals that are auctioned. Brooke and Kelsie volunteered to make clovers to go on the tables. They made 130 green clovers then realized that some of the tables would have green table clothes. So we sponge painted some white so they would stand out more. It took forever, but I'm glad the girls were able to feel proud about completing the project AND that they thought it through enough to recognize they needed white clovers too!

(I couldn't get the picture the right way...sorry) Here is Brooke's midnight bracelet and ribbon. Kelsie's is the gold-ish one. It was supposed to be a bracelet but the beads were bigger, so it fits like a choker. :)
This is a pair of earing another member of the group made and won "Outstanding Achievement".

Here is Brooke and Kaitlyn setting up for the luncheon.

Kelsie took over placing the flowers on top of the clovers.

I'm really looking forward to next year!
